Abstract
In the article attention is paid to the processes of demographic development that took place in the towns of Tobolsk province in second half XIX – beginning of XX century took place in this period a fundamental break with the social order, the foundations of life have influenced migration, artificial and natural increase, marriages, births and mortality. The capacitor of this trend, accumulating mood and conducting them in the first place was the city. Playing a significant role in social, economic development, current conditions demanded a different approach to changing reality, which is most evident on marginal, non-Central lands of the Empire.
