LEGAL STATUS OF THE JEWISH PEOPLE IN THE RUSSIAN EMPIRE AT THE END OF XVIII – THE FIRST QUARTER OF THE XIX CENTURIES

Abstract
The article deals with studying the legal status of the Jewish population of the Russian Empire at the end of XVIII – the first quarter of the XIX centuries. The author pays attention to the history of the Jewish people in contemporary Russia, examines in detail the policy of the Russian monarchs of the mentioned period in relation to the Jewish population of the Empire. In multinational Russian state issues of the legal status of national minorities are becoming extremely important and urgent.
