Abstract
Analyzes the legislative prerequisites and propositions of scientists on the establishment of municipal bodies of public order. A comparative analysis of the legal status of the American sheriffs and the district Commissioner of police of the Russia.The author substantiates the abandoning the creation of municipal police as a separate law enforcement agency in modern conditions, of organization offers to its own vision of the protection of public order within the municipalities.
