Abstract
The subject under consideration is the provisions of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Russian Federation in respect of the legal status of translator. The articles of the Code are studied in respect of their compliance to the purposes of the criminal proceedings and ensuring protection of the legitimate interest of the citizens.
