Abstract
The article deals with violations committed in a stage of excitation of criminal case, their causes. The author gives specific examples of violations of the criminal procedure law and the activities of prosecutors in their detection and elimination. The study is based on the analysis of the activities of the prosecutor's office Temnikov district of Mordovia.
