Abstract
This article considers the problem of legality and validity of the election of a preventive measure in the form of detention in criminal proceedings. It analyzes the problems of validity and legality of the election of a preventive measure in the form of detention in criminal proceedings to date. Questions of application of criminal procedural coercive measures is of particular relevance. This is understandable, because of how these measures are applied, as far as reasonably and legally, all depends on the tasks of criminal proceedings.
