Abstract
Article dedicated to the participation of social movements in the political life of the key countries in Latin America. Analyzes their role in resisting the neoliberal policy of the authorities in the 1990s and the "left turn" in the region in the 2000s. Discusses their conflicting relationships with traditional political structures and reformist center-left presidents: H. Chavez, E. Morales, R. Correa.
